We've been fighting the same cause for 10 years. We make very limited edition artwork based T shirts, this is what we do. The only real change is that we now use Organic Cotton. Much replicated, our way of working continues to promote new artists and their endeavors. We hope you enjoy our website.

Glastonbury Festival Sunshine...
We have spent the last week putting together plans for The Spunky Sound System at Glastonbury Festival. For the first time we will be selling our Organic T shirts which we are very happy about! We will have the massive dome tent that we had in 2003 and we have been putting together a video of last years festival, we'll let you know when it goes on the website. We have also ordered double order of sunshine... its got to be hot this year as nobodys buying tickets!!

01/04/08  Why Organic?
So why bother with using organic cotton? Does it really make any real difference?
While turning off the tap when you brush your teeth and recycling your newspapers may only make a small (but still valid) difference to your impact on the planet, buying organic cotton can really change peoples lives. Cotton crops account for twenty-five percent of the world's use of pesticides. The World Health Organization estimates that more than 20,000 people die each year due to accidental pesticide poisoning and up to one million are suffering from acute long term poisoning. Conventional cotton farming also causes long term contamination of rivers, lakes and waterways.
What about where it comes from does that matter?
Buying organic cotton helps to open up the market to developing nations as a 20% premium can be charged for certified organic cottons. Four hundred million cotton farmers in the developing world are living in conditions of abject poverty due to the collapse of world cotton prices caused by large cotton subsidies to cotton growers in the US, EU and China. American corporate cotton barons can get rich because they are also receiving generous payments directly from the U.S. Government which paid U.S. cotton farmers $2.06 billion in 2001, which is almost twice as much as the U.S.'s foreign aid to Sub-Saharan Africa! So just because it says 'sweatshop free made in America' doesnt mean nobody got shat on making it.
And if you dont give a shit buy them because the designs are dope!

Well, it has been a long journey to get here, bombs and assassinations have not stood in the way of bringing you the new range and we think its worth it.

All our mens T shirts are now organic cotton and soon all the hoods will be organic cotton too. We are committed to continually developing the ethical policies at Spunky and hope soon to be Fair Trade certified.
We have increased our prices by 50p this season as our costs have gone up massively to bring you the best quality Organic cotton. Our T shirts prints are also VERY LIMITED print editions (sometimes as little as 75 per design). While other labels claim to offer limited edition they usually mean 1,000 to 10,000 prints. So we hope you will feel the extra cost of a Spunky T shirt is worth it to get something organic and unique.

10-10-07 New Neon Colours In SP:UK Classic & New Season
Due to the popularity of our previous neon tee's we have decided to reproduce three of our classic styles, and one of our new season designs in hot neon tee's for the Autumn, Fluro Yellow and Lime. My own personal favourite has to be Clock & Roll by the5683 & Jenism, as the pink print and lime green tee go great together. Jackinclubbeats has also proven to be popular, and we also have Headphones and Chicken on offer.

10-10-07 Hoods and Sweatshirts
Well by now it is obvious that we have seen the very last of our short summer. Fear not, as last week we received our first delivery of our New AW2007 Collection of hoods and sweats. So with next day delivery you can be wearing your very own SP:UK hood or sweat by the weekend. This seasons hoods are slightly thicker (and warmer) than previous seasons, and are in a dark Charcoal. Dog & Moog and Fat Cat look especially good against this dark background. The designs for our hoods and sweats are already available in men's and women's tees, and other hoods include; When Shapes Join, Surrealist Cinema, Never Again and Clock & Roll. We have a new Bunk design for you this Autumn, Stretch by our very own James Harper. It is a take on the classic Bunk logo with a bit of a new rave twist. These are only available in men's sizes I am afraif, but I have to say Stretch looks just as good in a large size on a girl. Maybe with a pair of skinny jeans?

21-08-07 AW2007 Collection Has Arrived
Our new SP:UK Urban AW2007 Collection is now available through our online store and Bristol shop. We have received the first drop of our new collection and the colours for our new season are my favourite so far. This collection see's 2 new colours, Blue Grass and Bright Violet, which I must say looks great with the When The Stork Comes print on (by Joe A Scerri). The popular tee dress shape is back again, this time with Uplifted, a henna design by Jodi Muter. This season see's a return from past SP:UK designers Joe Blakey, (who designed our classic Escaping Records print) TV Boy, Eddie Fett and The 5683 who this time has collaborated with Jen-ism.

18-06-07 Glastonbury Festival
We now have more dj's included in the line up for Glastonbury Festival... Thursday will be kicked off with the boys from wrongmusic www.wrongmusic.com and www.myspace.com/wrong_musicFriday's black tie event will be pushed forward by Eddie Fett, Kid Ross, Neil Hodgy, Super Mal who has just hit it big with his track Bigger Than Big featuring Luciana of Body Rocks fame. Saturday's zombie disco fancy dress is gonna look lively with the resident dj's joined by a whole host of other including appearences from Alex Lavery, Paul Simpson, plus many others who rock up and get the party jumping. Sundays grand finale will witness a huge mash up of all our dj's from the weekends antics (well those who are still standing!!!) SPUNKY SOUND SYSTEM IN THE JMARKET AREA J2/15

06-06-07 GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL
Yes we will once again be featuring at Glastonbury Festival this year from the 20th to the 24th of June, as we have done for the last 7 years. During the day's we will have on offer our range of men's and women's urban clothing with tee's, vests, and tee shirt dresses all going at reduced festival prices! We will also be selling some festival essentials including, bright wellingtons, fluro umbrella's and pacamacs.. essentials if the weather turns nasty, which unfortunately it often does. Plus our own fine streetwear mens and womens clothing! Tshirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and any other cheeky items that we can fit in the van!
Then as the sun sets, our tent will be transformed into the renowned Spunky Sound System, with host of DJ's including Eddie Fett, Kid Ross and Soul of Man. On the Friday night, get ready for our very fancy, Black Tie fancy dress party (fancy dress optional) and Saturday night will see us stage our very own Zombie Disco.

We will also be having live painting by some of our favourite artists on Wednesday the 20th. Come along to our tent to see artists including Matt Sewell, The 5683, Eddie Fett and 45rpm. You can find us at stall J2/15 in the J market area, which is situated between the Dance Village and the Pyramid Stage. We have recently updated our designer profile section on spukclothing.co.uk. This section has designer profile palying cards of all the designers we have worked with. Each profile gives you info on the particular designer and has examples of their work, alongside their tshirt or clothing items produced for SPUK. The profile cards are an important part of SPUK to gte the designers name out to the public arena, they are available to view on spunky.co.uk and also are now attached to each thisrt printed.

As you may or may not know, each season we are on the look out for hot new talent, in the form of artists, illustrators and graphic designers to provide us with designs for our new collection. Each season we take about 15 of our favourite designs and transform them into out SP:UK tee's. In return we pay you £150, one of our finished tee's with your design on it, and we will promote you through our Spunky website. Have a look at our past artist's profiles, and submit a design. Please forward this to any designers who you think may be interested in designing for SP:UK, there will be a reward for anyone who recomends us to a designer who's work is then produced! The truely unique jerry cans that artists painted for the Spring Summer 06 SP:UK exhibition in London can be seen at the Dazed Gallery. Artists who have created the jerry cans include, Jon Burgerman, Lisa Alisa, The5683 and richT. The gallery is in the centre of Hanley, Stoke On Trent, and shows street- savvy illustration/ painting and graffiti-art from around the world.

No Smoking Please…..Its High Octane Urban Art
SP:UKs biannual urban art exhibition is due to kick off with the private view opening night on the 26 May This time around we have asked urban artists to paint metal jerry can however they please. Artists including Chris King, Pete Slight, RichT, China Mike, 45Rpm, Feek, Lisa Alisa and Eddie Fett Hopefully sun, beers, and Dj's including Souls Of Man (Fingerlicking Dj's) and Datashat kicking off a great start to a bank holiday weekend!!! Make sure you get there early 6pm till the beer goes!
